Just putting out there.
Some time back some years ago a fellow was going to give feed back on how close detectors can operate together.
SDC 2300 running beside a GPX4500 or sdc 2300 running beside another sdc.
My guess two GPX`s would need vast distance between them again at a guess.
Any takers ?

The SDC2300 is quite happy working beside the GPX4500 or GPX6000. I think it might vary a little but we can certainly get down to 5m apart.

50 to 100 meters. I used to hate drop ins who saw me then stopped and came close. Looking for others to vulture. Id wait then turn it up till mine went nuts and Id see the clown drop ins looking at their detector trying to tune it. Then theyd be ok, then id change it again and watch them go through it all again. I did that with everything I could manually tune or change with vultures.
Give at least 50 with those you know and are happy and if there's no noise.
But its disrespectful and rude to pull in within 200 meters and close in on anyone else detecting.
Its like casting over another fishermans line. When I see anyone do either I refuse to engage them in conversation. They immediately show their colours and its the colour of crap.

Does this mean the 4500 is not effect by the sdc or is the above one sided ? & did i read the 6000 is not really a gpx.
And thank you guys for the replies.

Jeez sounds like some real boundary issues going on.
I guess some people just never really get it.
The ground balance can be tough even at the best of times.
True colours i know exactly what you mean.
Bluey went out the door with Big Red.

I went out a few weeks` ago with another 2 detectorists. I had my 4500 , one had a 2300 and the other a 6000 . The 4500 and the 2300 had no problem with each other in close proximity . The 6000 didn`t have a problem with the 4500 BUT the 4500 had interference from the 6000 within about 15 metres. I was using a 12 " Nugget finder Evolution coil and neither of us had boosters / SP01 with us.

Yes some people have no respect and obviously don't have the brains to seek out their own area to detect. A couple of years back I went out to a 185ha patch of vacant crown land. I found one little nugget then quickly moved on a hundred metres or so and found another. As I was carefully covering my dighole I glanced up so see a Hilux hidden behind a bush. The moment I moved off another hundred metres he pounced on the spot I'd just left. I went on finding random small nuggets because all I was doing was looking at the viability of this block for dryblowing.

That afternoon I pegged the block P20/2485 and within a week the areas of native vegetation had vehicle tracks everywhere. The guy must have had a bunch of mates, perhaps the seasonal nomads from the caravan park. I never went back with the metal detector but the block in question has had four parties peg it. I pulled out as it was not worth fighting over.

A poacher from Toodyay is just like those guys with the detectors. He jumps on ground others have pegged and objects to their pegging through the warden's court. He doesn't have what it takes to choose his own patch of dirt. The fight for that lease is still going on but I don't think he is going to win. He's upset too many people so his days are numbered.
