It's been reported that the ACCC is "Taking action against Woolworths and Coles for misleading pricing claims." And it's about time, they've been robbing us blind since the covid pandemic started, using price conditioning practices and dodgy supply chain and transport problem claims to keep jacking up prices to boost their billion dollar profits, hopefully the authorities will throw the book at them.

The CEO's should be the ones punished severely.
Sent photos in the past of items increased prices and a later date same items at reduced sale prices that equalled the original prices to Woolworths.
Response = None.
They are on staggering salaries and obviously don't give a damn about customers.

and the fine is $10 million by the news reports ,the ceo's and board members would spill more than that at a weekend pissup(board meeting)
and everyone is forgetting about some of the small players like our local IGA ,which has been price matching coles and woolworths before covid
so the have been price gauging as well but nothing said about them
nothing will change unless the powers to be grow a set of balls and break the duopoly up but that will not happen

Same as petrol prices mate. Yesterday ulpE10 was down to $1.54 -$1.65 per litre as against a couple of weeks back at over $2.00. Go figure, oh, I forgot, the Petrol Stations are owned by the same supermarkets that have been ripping off consumers for years.
I think you'll find that's no longer the case.

The ACCCs investigation will find them guilty then give them 10 lashes with a feather duster. Carry on. Business as usual.
I think you'll find they'll get punished a bit more than 10 lashes with the feather duster this time Bulldog, both have had their share price tumble by more than 5% since it became public that they were going to be prosected, and I would think that the fines would be in the hundreds of millions for each of them, I might be wrong, but they fined the banks megabucks for similar practices a couple of years ago, so I think they are going to be in a world of pain for some time to come.

I'm not sure of the Taxation act but a Ten million fine may be written off as a business cost. The CEOS will apologise and resign, the media will hammer them for a week . End of financial year there will be record profits Sorry for being negative but I've seen all this many times before.
