Cheers Smoky. I seal with Dermeze mate, it's fragrance free and available at your local chemist. So i liberally coat the coins, all copper, sometimes silver, then let them sit for a while so it soaks in, before patting dry with paper towel, don't rub only pat dry. once all cleaned, sealed and photos taken all copper and brass gets individually bagged to avoid any spreading if that bronze disease pops up. it will ruin a collection in no time. If you look at the George v penny, second from left you will see some slight traces of BD after a few days to a week it gets worse, so i take that coin, retumble it to clean up the green then i cook it in a 200 degree oven for 5 mins and reseal. The cooking seems to kill the BD. I will show you in some of the pics to come.

Interesting way to treat your coppers, the finish on them reminds me of all the pennies stuck to this bar in SA.

So as i said, i did get in a few short hunts in the last 3 months. :lol: But, with the finds hanging around on paper towels on all available bench tops within the house, waiting to be cleaned for so long, i am slightly confused as to what came from where. :rolleyes: lol. I'll try my best to get it all right but don't crucify me if i contradict myself with some of the info and pics :8

Ok so hunt #1 was at an old farm site at listowel, the local rumour is that the old fella who originally lived here stashed a cache of sovereigns somewhere. Didn't find them this time, but i shall return. I did find a broken brooch that is copper also found a nice returned from active service badge.

Hunt #2 was a quick search underneath the old bar stand at the local oval. The bar and stand are on shipping containers and there is a very narrow gap between the two, i figured there had to be some coinage fall through the gap over the years. It is only a very small confined area that is littered with metal material but the nox sifted out some coins amongst the junk. unfortunately it was all modern, although bottom left is a 20 euro amongst them.

Hunt #4 was another attempt to find something at that old cricket ground, just some moderns and a few buttons. But at least i've finally found something there. :Y:

Hunt #5 was back to an old farm site i referred to in post #38 i'll call this x farm site. If anyone can shed some light on the little fork that would be appreciated.

Hunt #6 took me back for a swing sesh at the old school site, The brass thingy and the Northam Warren 1935 lippy were on the footpath where tables and chairs are set for travelers.

Hunt #7 Was 2 separate short hunts at a new farm where i have obtained permission to detect several historical sites + an old church site on another of their farms and also an old farm site they have down your way goldpick. :rainbow: :party: these targets came from an existing but unoccupied farm house on the property, most of the 1c & 2c & the 55 penny were concentrated along a line which was obviously a string clothesline on a lawned area. The 1893/94 dog tag suggests there should be some older coins hiding there somewhere.
