I made the funnel head out of a 100 mm PVC pipe, have found the stuff very handy when you combine it with a heat gun on low. Did take a bit of time to shape but I am very happy with the outcome.

The ripple section is removable and made out of alloy flashing with self adhesive furniture felt, thought it would do the trick until I sourced some of that blue mat. I am on the north side of Sydney, so a trip up the coast is not out of the picture although I'll corner them at Belrose and tell them they are being unreasonable, thanks for the heads-up.

Yes sometimes you run into a grumpy know it all at Bunnings that thinks they write the rules..
When do you plan on trying out your new creation?

Hey Wally, having lived on the NB for a long time, I can honestly say "avoid Forest Way" lol a quick journey into the suburbs, south of the bridge will yield some very welcome prices :D

Thanks Gav, they sure do post-code price around these parts.

Reeko, don't have an answer for you, I am idea rich, time poor. Would have loved to have given it a crack at Nundle on the long weekend but I am told I am doing otherwise.

Family and work have me running in circles most of the time but they are dragging me to Jambaroo soon and I have my eye on Yalwal, upper Shoalhaven if time permits.

I would love to get back to Sofala, the bridle track and GG. Yet to explore Oberon, the Upper Turon and Ophir.

Are there any closer haunts that would suit a day trip that you know of ?

Great looking sluices there guys...Bunnings is a 3 minute drive for me....I have already had a few trips around the isles planning different projects

G day reeks

for about another $20 buckets or so they make a pit for those things, in plastic, would make for a great hopper, in fact a 6 or 8" pit for a hopper, some din 50 pressure pipe and some elbows would make some legs for that sucker as well, would have to be the lights, easiest man packable high banker on the planet.

Thanks Reeks,
I was very interested in the "Bunnings sluice" Made one the other day I have taken the matting the entire length and added a section to the end made of 90mm pipe that I cut in half so I can add the material without losing any of the sorting length.

These were got from my Bunning's sluice 4 buckets dirt maybe 1/2 gram +I tipped some flower gold back into buckets in my car as no sniffer to collect it :). north mount Isa.

Goodness me, and some say the Old timers were ingenious. Imagine how they'd have created if Bunnings was available 160 yrs ago. Nevertheless all you guys amaze me, so thanks for all the hints, tips, and general knowhow.

Ok so im heading to mittagong bunnings to explore the possibilities of a sluice on a budget

What size pump are you using on this set up? This would be ideal for us, I'm in the process of making one to recycle water.
Cheers,
Paul
