Thanks Russell,I just upgraded from Ace 250 to AT Pro and at the moment I'm doing the old "dig up everything" to learn what the detector is telling me. This chart might help reduce the time digging trash and allow more time looking for solid targets.I think I'll get it printed off in a small card size and get it laminated so I can take it with me.
 
Just thought I mention for AT Pro new owners that the ID of 53 or so for the new levering-up pull tabs that shouldn't come off the can, is basically the same as for 10c pieces, but that the signal for the 10c pieces is often not clear, or dirty sounding, even if they are flat in the soil. Basically the pull tabs have the better stronger signal. This is unusual for coins. :p
 
Actually $2 coins can be a bit titchy too, tend to come in 1 ID number lower than $1 coins in the same conditions (about 79).

had quite a bit fo can slaw at this site so while this is coming in for 5c pieces I was expecting a tiny piece of aluminium on the good signal.

Came out at a very clear 90 about 8cm down. I was of course expecting silver. I was thinking a 1937 Crown, still looking for one of these.
 
As a matter of interest how does the AT Pro go for finning nuggets.

I tested mine on a three quarter ounce nugget and was dismayed it would only register at about three to four inches below the surface on very loose top soil.

And a funny thing is it registered at the 40, 70 and 90 mark on the target ID. On an air test it hit at around the 53 mark.

Perhaps someone might enlighten my poor little detecting brain on this one. This has got me tossed.
 
Russel, do those values change at depth or do they stay the same? BTW, thanks for the values mate, I too have just bought an ATPro to add to my kit so I can attach the coins that have been dropped in my area since the 1830's.........just have to find 'em.
