after about a week having this

sitting in a cab bath two coins separated from what I was starting to think was junk and destined for the bin .

Its been a while since I detected after doing a lower back in late Feb . And it’s taken a couple of months to heal so it was good to be on the hustings for a couple of hunts this week to test things out . Wasn’t expecting much and just being able to have a swing was a victory . Detector used was a Nox with a standard coil to keep things as light as possible.

I hit a few spots I haven’t detected in a year or 2 and a few new ones , both park and beach . Targets were there if you put the hours in. A few rings about but non with hallmarks and some interesting finds .

All in all my back held up and that was my main hope .

There was One scary moment while detecting a park amongst some thick scrub . When I finished cleaning the patch out I headed for a ridge to get some elevation to look for my next spot and circled around the other side of the scrub I had detected . That’s when I noticed a bloke standing in the darkness , in his underwater . It was obvious that he was on something and would of been only 4 feet away on the other side of the bushes from where I was detecting . Will be more careful doing night detects from know on .

The gold ring is gold plated over base metal . The mini gold coloured scoop looks like it could be a drug utensil of some sort . The silver ring has stone breather holes but no hallmark unfortunately. However the charm with stones has 750 hallmark and is white gold . Anyways happy hunting.

Out and about yesterday . Had enough of work by lunch time and went detecting to clear the mind . Decided to use both the Knox and ctx in different areas . My main focus was detecting a high trash zone with the Knox and a beach swash zone with the ctx .

The high trash zone yielded just that a lot of trash , so I focused on swashing at site B with the ctx as my back had fully healed and could carry the extra weight and kit.

Being a Thursday gridding was the order of the day , as I followed the outgoing tide . Not too much about but just enough good targets to keep me interested for a few hours .

A little bit of coinage about . Then I hit upon a crisp 12:20 target at about 25cm down . A nice 18 carat ring popped out . And with that I pulled up stumps and called it a night .
