Silver, My thread above is the Link to Page 6 of members comments, Gerry who started the thread , did not state his favorite to get others to publish theirs.

His favorite is the fourth comment from the top of the link (Page 6) I think its well thought out and helpful to anyone considering a Gold or Coin Detector.

Just to save anybody the trouble, he is touting the Nox as his favourite gold machine...

As a Nox user, I of course find that interesting, but regardless of performance, I still think ML need to up the strength/build quality on the Nox to move it from a very good detector to a truly excellent one..

Even if they invested in just an extra 5 of plastic to strengthen things like coil lugs, it would be a marked improvement...

Remember though he's touting the nox for where he is in USA

Yep understand that, and while the Nox is a brilliant little machine no doubting that and works well in the USA, there are machines much better suited to finding gold in Australian soils than the Nox.

I don't think people would be buying machines costing several thousand dollars if the Nox worked just as well....

Yep, I reckon he would change his tune pretty quickly after a few hours in some aussie goldfields. The nox with the 6" coil will find some tiny gold but only in white or very mild soil. And it also finds a shtload of red rocks, black slate and tree roots!

Pete E, the reality is that while a NOX is great for what it was designed for, it is never going to be as good on gold in AU as a PI machine that costs many thousands of $

That is my understanding also...You can probably debate the pros and cons of the Nox v the GM, but once you get into the high dollar PI machines, I don't think the Nox is in the running on highly mineralised soils you guys get...
