g'day im a young bloke in darwin im a fisho most of the year but have had about half a dozen trips through the nt prospecting with friends and seeing some really cool things and sharing some wicked moments the main reason i am joining is to read as much information as possible to learn the tricks of this new hobbie.
I am currently in the process of getting a landcruiser and after that hopefully a new gpx5000 before the start of the 2016 dry season i have been using the eurika gold as my only detector and have been missing out on a fair bit of gold that my freinds find behind me but i have also been doing beach combing on some of our beaches just picking up trash and a few interesting ww2 pieces like bullets and things have about 500 dollars in coins :D and a jewlery pieces but i better wrap this up cheers for reading and tight lines

Welcome bellfish,... don't forget to stow the detector on the boat when you go out, just incase you have to pull up somewhere out there in a storm on the lee side of anywhere you could manage a swing instead of a swell(longshot I know),... who wants to get in or out of the boat when a storms comin?(I would)I'd just want to get out ! . sounds like your livin the life up there at any rate bf,... get the knowledge and the gear and watch ya mates faces as they find nothing when they follow ya footsteps(ha), hope it helps ya find more,.. looks a lot like we gunna need to see your photo album, just going by your avatar photo,....catch ya soon. :)

G'day Bellfish, you talk about beach combing, from memory I think there is a pub up there called the Beach Comber, correct me if I am wrong it was a long time ago. Mate I recon you are in a great area for detecting so good luck and I hope you enjoy the forum.

Cheers, DD

Beach combers no more, I also live in Darwin (Palmy). Have been out with a few mates, sucks when they pick up some yellow and you have just walked over. I am thinking of upgrading to the 2300 or a 4500. Also own a boat, there a few places (islands) that i wouldn't mind going for a scratch. Cheers
