Yalwal campground

Hi Everyone ,
Can anyone tell me about Yalwal ? Is fossicking allowed in the area ?
I see that the old mines are in the National Park , but is there any alluvial prospecting downstream ?
Any access down to the Shoulhaven from there ? How much country is locked up down there now ?

Most of the areas worth looking at out there are national park or private property, i have tried detecting some of the state forest without any luck. I think if you want access to the river from round there Coolendel would be the closest public access, though even that is a nature reserve now.
