Under $700 get the 705 dual pack...
Better for coin and discrimination...
NOX if you wish to hit the beach but unless you spend lots of hrs learning and understanding the many settings...
Dig every thing beach or else where...
I do not have the time to spend so keep going back to the 3030 or Excalibur - In my experience on the beach and gold fields and under water... The NOX 800 does little that my other machines do not do as well or better.
It is light and I like the balance in the water with the 11"coil, but on my land permissions it is like using an SDC2300 so not worth the effort. And with teh option of an Excalibur or 3030 - I can not find a reason to keep it.
So many reports I believe are more about people getting out and coil to the ground.. And coming from inferior machines. I can hit some places with the 3030 and get few finds and yet turn up a month later and get old and deep finds.. Ground conditions and the coil in the right place. Yet so many seem to think they hit a place and the NOX is finding stuff that other could not. Then there is the DIG every thing that some are happy to do...
Was snorkeling the other week the SDC2300 out performs the NOX in wet sand and under water.. The 3030 and NOX was a had call as depth is so questionable and black sand was also a factor. But so easy to discrim crap out with the 3030 and when I am struggling to stay down and fan / dig a target in the surf... The NOX is not efficient for my style of hunting I would rather leave the beer bottle tops for others.....
It did do well in Fresh water and quite stable..
PS. My NOX and Water proof adapter to suit the CTX3030 headphones will be available shortly for sale..
Still trying to do a swap with another member for his 3030 but he is after cash
