Todays newspaper mentions an upgrade or expansion to Wyangala Dam which is to the west of Tuena / Trunkey / Abercrombie.

It might pay to keep an eye on govt bulletins when released to see where the expansion is going to be and what rivers it may influence in case it affects the activities of the wet prospectors among us.

It could be 3 - 12 months before wheels start turning . they might even stop turning when elections are over too . fargnose.

They can't keep Wyangala full now,it's sitting at 20% and falling, without a huge load of rain soon it will become extremely low this summer.Raising the wall is all well and good but you need the rain to fill it up.

It fills up but environmental flows and cotton allocations drain it quick. All sold now. Does not belong to towns/people.

Hmmm wonder where they're build the new Dungawan dam , they've already built a big dam at the top of Dungawan creek

Interesting chaffey dam is on the peel, Dungawan dam is on the Dungawan creek , Google :)

Well I am not sure exactly but doesn't the Abercrombie and the Lachlan feed Wyangala Dam.Must be a hell of a lot of creeks and gutters that feed in as well...just say'
in.

Yes reefer, the Copperhannia and Rocky Bridge, both with their commencement near the village of Trunkey Creek.
Gold all the way down, topped up during every big wet.
The old timers had rock sluice traps set in dry gullies coming off the hills. After a decent "gully raker" they would scrape out the concentrates and pan them off in a creek pool.
Traps could be found to still exist on the Mountain Run which feeds into the Copperhannia off the Curragh road.

In the '70's., mate and myself made a decent living from those creeks, but you cant do now what we did then!
