Well.. what a morning at Mt Crawford in SA. I did some research on older maps and found a section that had been worked in the 1900s but isn't on any current map. I got there around 7am. Within the first 10 mins i got a light signal, scrapped back the pine needles and it sharped up, kept digging till i got to a whitish clay, I was a bit excited at this point. The target was out of the hole... i was slowly dropping dirt onto the shovel till i heard a plonk and weight.. i was thinking to my self.. finally.. i grabbed the target and it was heavy.. gave it a clean as it was covered in dirt to find out it was this massive bullet head.. .22 bullet next to it for size. Shattered..i kept working the area and all i was getting was junk.. then i realised.. i had dropped my ring out of my pocket somewhere along the way.. i spent the next 1hr retracing where i had been and located my ring under some pine needles near a hole i had dug.. thank god for that. On the way back i stumbled across someone's special spot ??? a tube of lube and what looks to be a xxxxx pump ???? man what a find.. no gold again today but im 1 trip closer to finding some.
