what is biggest piece of gold found in a sluice

can you find any decent size gold in a sluice.
i have noticed i havnt found any decent size gold biggest pieces i have found are when iv test panned the area first why is this.. test pan says the bigger gold is there but all the biggest pieces i have found have been in a pan testing the area..

is the highbanker not set right or is the banker just rubbish??

Get one of the bigger bits you have found and feed it into your banker and see what it does.

However if you let the riffles clog up gold will flow over the top, probably not big chunks though, so you do need it set up properly.
Catch up with another member to get an opinion on your setup. Maybe list an alluvial get together in the meet up section.

I have got a gram nugget in my highbanker and regularly get 0.2 -0.5. I think it comes down to the area your in.

Thanks grubstake, i usually pull out around 3 grams for a weekend and about a quarter ounce of mercury.
