Unfortunately they are both closed at the moment (as at 29/01/21). You can check closures here: https://www.forestrycorporation.com.au/visit/closures/widespread-closures-bushfires Not sure of the potential for fossicking in either but both had historic gold mines so could be worth researching until they open up again? Also for NSW State Forests you will need a Fossicking Permit: https://www.forestrycorporation.com.au/visit/activities/fossicking This permit only allows you to fossick in allowable areas within NSW State Forests. You can check them here: https://fcnsw.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=db08e563e1b6403fabde1ce901389fa2 National Park Areas including SCA's (State Conservation Areas) are generally off limits to fossickers. There are other historic gold mining areas in State Forest near Nana Glen/Coffs i.e. Nana Creek, Wedding Bells but again research would be required. Minview will be of help with gold locations, reports, fossicking districts etc.: https://minview.geoscience.nsw.gov.au/#/?lon=150.9727&lat=-31.14924&z=7&bm=bm3&l=mg9:y:100 Fossicking in NSW: https://www.resourcesregulator.nsw.gov.au/environment/fossicking
