Hey, I've grown up in Warrandyte all my life and I thought I new where all the mines were. I remember my cousins used to take me into them when i was young. Oviously now there all closed because there deemed dangerous. Recently I stumbled on to one at a friends property that backs onto tills drive. After trying to find some more information on it I found my self looking at this page " users.tpg.com.au/tashmick/goldmines11.html"

I noticed a mine called " NILLUMBIK MINE - THE HIDDEN MINE" just wondering where abouts this is??

I've included two photos of the mine on my friends property, its collapsed but I believe it goes in further

Here is a plan of the mine - 1934

Geez mate the Golden stuff you have is not always in the jar. I have a few from my local.

Loamer, Fairdinkum mate, do you have a team of investigators at your disposal? Or a Warehouse where you keep all this stuff?

Here's a portion of the Mines Dept 1888 map.

Hey mate any chance I can give you a call about that mine ?

That's all I know mate - try and get a read of James Fletts 'The History of Gold Discovery in Victoria' at your library - he mentions nearly every spot in Victoria. (Including all the suburban goldfields - Collingwood, the City, Flagstaff Hill etc etc.

Do you have a photo loamer of the "The History of Gold Discovery in Victoria" so I know what to keep my eyes out for in the shops? I may have stumbled across it a couple of months ago in a antique / book store

*edit: Sorry loamer, ignore that question I found it using the "internet".. I kinda forgot I was sitting in front of it :/

Hmmm not an easy book to buy or even find by the looks of it.
