As some of you know, our little grandson Thomas has been battling cancer.
We have received so much love and support from members of Prospecting Australia.
I thank you all for the support.
I thought I would post an update of his progress so far.
After 4 months of chemo, the main tumour under his kidney has shrunk from the size of a closed fist to about walnut size.
The 2 smaller tumours near his spine seem to have been eradicated.
This is the best result we could have hoped for.
He has lost a lot of weight, as is normal with chemo and being fed via a tube through his nose and into his belly.
He is not his usual happy, cheeky self.
There are many months of treatment and procedures ahead.
Tommorrow, Wed 25th, he is having surgery to try remove as much of the tumour as possible.

We thank you all again for your kind words and support.
Below is a link to an article about a fundraiser being held for Thomas.

Rod - that sort of puts things in perspective. I wish you and your family all the best with the function this Saturday.

Mate- the Laanacoorie (Vic) gold bash on 11 - 13 Oct has raffles etc. The bash is donating all proceeds to the Peter McCallum Cancer Hospital in Melbourne. In some small way it all helps. It is an insidious horrible thing especially in little tackers like Thomas. Good luck my friend.

Thanks for the update Rod. It's great to hear that the tumors have shrunken, and I wish Thomas and the family the very best for tomorrows surgery.

I'll see you at the fundraiser.

Nugget.

That is good news Rod. One day at a time, our thoughts are with you.
George.

Such a young person.... We are all on your side in this very difficult time....

Cheers, Tone

Rod,

Hope the operation goes well for young Thomas,it's good news that the tumour has shrunk.

Good luck,

Pete

Thanks for the update Rod.

Really good to hear some better news from it though. He seems like a little battler. Keep those positive thoughts going!

All the best to your grandson, you and the family.
Shauno.

Thinking of you and family Rod. Chemo is tough for anyone, particularly a little person. So glad to hear that things have progressed OK. Surgery is a big step, but absolutely necessary. As you say, it will be a difficult year ahead for everyone, but we are all hoping for the best of outcomes.
