Hi All, Just curious to know the accurate equipment for underground Diamonds and Gemstone detection. And any suggested models and where to buy those in Sydney..

Thank you in advance... :)

Is that a real machine ? Something about the ad tells me its probably not all its cracked up to be :/

In my opinion your keyboard on your computer is the best tool to find a patch , then a pair of sieves approx $60 plus a car ride and a bit of digging and sieving you should get some saphires :D

Take you pick, or one of these. Gteed to have been successful for the last couple of thousand years.

A map of the fossicking area you intend to visit is the next best detector. Try Black Springs near Oberon for sapphire and potentially a diamond.

I like it goes to a depth of 35 meters :D and covers 2500 square meters in front :D , imagine getting a signal and digging 35 meters down
With any luck theres only 1 diamond in the area otherwise it will be hard to pinpoint a target ]:D .

I would be cautious before forking out thousands of dollars - while I have never heard of these, my suspicion is that they are as useful as a divining rod. Look at the advert and their claims - detectorologists would be suspicious of claims of 30 m depth detection and detection at distances of 2 km for individual diamonds!!!!! Duh! How big is a diamond?

The chemistry they are talking about sounds like absurd doublespeak to me - but I am just a geochemist familiar with geophysical techniques.

One word of advice - there tends to be more tonnes of rock per diamond than tonnes of rock per ounce of gold in most deposits. Hard yakka is the main technique. Panning works (the Brazilians use a conical pan), but so does sieving, - UV fluorescence can be used to see exposed diamonds and gemstones (and can show up a single stone at a distance of metres - but how often do you find exposed stones except on your mesh after sieving).

Hi JanatD, welcome to the forum.

As others have already stated, no such effective device currently exists. Not to my knowledge at least. If they did, I would be ot there with one in each hand :)

To find gemstones you need to do some research, pick the brains of experienced fossickers and miners and geologists like Goldirocks. Sweat and blisters are the order of the day.

You'll need a strong back to handle the digging and a big heart to handle the dissapointments which are frequent.

Not trying to put you off at all - I love fossicking! - but you just need to start with realistic expectations.

Cheers

Bugger, all the tons of earth and rock I've moved for little or no return.
And now I find out that all I needed was one of those machines?
60 years wasted. 8.( 8.( 8.(

It's all above board. ... I am a major shareholder in the company.... we actually had to dampen down the electronics as it was (believe it or not) picking up deposits of Richardo Cheese on the moon at full strength.
8) .....
Spend the money (not)

I will take 1000 units as my first order Silver.

If you could post up your bank, account number, address, credit card number and approximate age of your pets, then we can get this started.

No PM, as I am off the planet currently, and can only receive the forum information.

I look forward to joining your company, and making the riches that so many believe can't come true :)

Yours as always respectfully,

Jim Shoos.

I worked for De Beers in their mines. Such a device does not exist. It also goes against the laws of physics. Diamonds can be tested with small electronic devices and jewelers can use them but they require one major thing to work. You have to have a diamond in your hand and then the results are often contradictory. The only definitive test for diamond is specific gravity. Even hardness can be deceptive at times. Both diamonds and many gems like sapphires are relatively heavy and you can find them in the same physical traps you would look for gold.

The diamond testers used by jewellers test for thermal conductivity don't they? Not sure how that could work through rock and earth.

Does anyone have any theories as to what the device in the link might actually be? I'm just curious as to whether it's a 100% pure scam or whether it an actual, real working device that does something.......just not detect diamonds in the ground.

Minimal outlay, massive returns, legitimised trading platform....... ......... not a bad model for a money laundering scheme, with some sideline revenue from the occasional innocent.

Yep! It's one of the prototypes for the finale of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'.
