Has anyone tried out an underflow sluice? Saw on YouTube from crazy prospector,,, looks good, guess you'd have to get angles set just right and the flow rate too,,, is that more trouble then regular hi bankers??
Still learning all this stuff.

G'day Tezza,
I personally think a small 12V unit highbanker would be the go using a 100 amp deep cycle battery, nice and quiet.
A lot of place where the gold is out that way, the rivers and creeks just don't have the flow.
You do need a good flow for any river type sluice to work well, I hear good reports on the Angus Mckirk range as some of the lads on here are using them.
I will be heading out this weekend for a stint and will post a few photos up for you, just to give you an idea.
I just built a small banker out of a shed colomn beam galvanised and seems to do the job pretty well.
Good luck.
Cheers
Brad....

Hi Tezza , the underflow sluice is designed to separate the gold from other heavies. I have seen the same Utube vids you mention & have thought of building one myself.
There are many "Normal" type sluices out there, that are way cheaper than this range.

Cheers Paul

Something I've been pondering for a while myself, next time i borrow a tig welder if like to get started with pile of aluminium offcuts i have. Any further suggestions appreciated.

Have a look at the fluidised bed concentrators too. Ridiculously easy to knock up and work well too.

Yeah I reckon you should get one, then we can all see if it works. ;) hahaha. Looks good on the clips and the principle is sound.

Had a go at building a underflow sluice today. It does work but I think some modifications need to be made before I would be confident with it out in the field. I think the u shaped dip needs to be quiet small. The one I have used is about 60mm deep and a out 40mm wide. With a shallower dip you would need less water flow. Does anyone got one ready
