just having a break from two weeks at the 'cabin' in the triangle. Just got to a spot that my wifi can activate. Doing OK on the gold - just headed into to town to clean up for Jim Stewart's funeral in Ballarat tomorrow. Wombat posted the details earlier I have noticed.

Jimmy was/is a great mate and I miss him very much already. He was a bloody legend on the gold in both Vic and WA and had a very long and prosperous prospecting career culminating in his owning the Laanacoorie Lakeside Park where a lot of people have visited and recently held the other forums weekend event that raised big $$ for cancer research so well done to them. Jim taught me how to pan at Creswick many years ago and we had many adventures together and in fact he taught me everything I know about prospecting. Jim started out in the very early VLF days and his knowledge of electronics, coils, detectors and gold history was unsurpassed in anyone else I know. Many frothies were had over the years and I will raise a glass for you on Friday mate. I knew it was coming but prospecting will never, ever be the same - I still hear him walking along side me in the early PI days yelling - 'bedrock', 'hot rock', 'red clay', 'ground noise' 'rubbish', 'TARGET'. I do not really like many people but Jim was a 'good man' who I loved, trusted and respected deeply. A lovely man and a wonderful family.

Rest in peace old mate.

Sad buddy...
If he was that much of a wealth of knowledge , he would of been about and had a good life... Seen things.
