Well yesterday I was at home and I heard this cracking noise so I decided to go look out the window and see what it was. I looked out the window and there was a massive bright light and a big zapping noise afterwords. Anyway I went outside and had a look and a tree had fallen over onto power lines :|

So we lost power yesterday at around 3pm and got the power back at 2am this morning. It was a very long night!

Ha, looks like you live on top of the world kid, nice looking country,.. Hills equals Gemstones(sometimes), How you going with the hunting ?

Here is how I moisture and rain proof my ACE250 (not immersion waterproof though),.. I go out in the pouring rain and still hunt.

water would only get in a bit if you left it hanging upside down(which you don't), side ways lying on the ground is fine.

Heres how I cut the snaplock for the housing,..note the cut is on the clear side of the bag(sandwich size bag).
get good electrical tape from an auto electricians shop,.. tell them you want the good gaffa tape with the lead in it.

If your not using headphones you can still hear through the plastic, but if it's raining you are best to be using headphones to help you hear the targets over the noise of the rain.
Hope this helps you to get out in the rain while you still can Kid.
Cheers Silver.

Jeez, apart from great reaction time what an amazing tree fall. What could have caused that unless there was a fault line along the road edge. No excess wind either???
Jaros :p

Amazing what a bit of wind will do.
This clip is on the Black Spur, near Healesville, last month.

7 trees down in one hit ?

lol

i think what happens there is one tree goes down and creates a chasm for the wind to flow through , that pulls down the trees on each side and you get a couple more come down in sympathy.

stinker wind but what lucky timing

gotta love those crash cams

About $28-$29 at Jaycar, and they come with the adaptor plug that fits in the big audio hole on the ACE250.Although a pair with volume control as well could be good for you, otherwise you just shift the ear parts halfway on your ears or around your neck to reduce volume(don't send yourself deaf early in life).

Best battery buy is Big W, for this lot, and they last good too. you can use them up until they go flat and there is no problem with finding targets right up until that moment(flat),.. they must be the type that still works fine and drop out suddenly at the end(always carry spares), and they come in special 4 packs just for us, at $10 for 40 they are good value for money.
