Hopefully this trend doesnt expand , the only people who should be trading water rights is rural property operators.

For what its worth.

The published Directors or investors of Duxton are ;

Edouard Fernen Peter ( USA ) formerly on Deutsche Bank's (DB) Group Equity Operating Committee
Stephen M. Duerden Chief Operations Officer & Director at Deutsche Asset Management (Asia) Ltd.
Dirk Erich Wiedmann Chief Investment Officer & Global Head-Investments at Rothschild Wealth Management & Trust
Dennis Ray Mutton formerly Chief Executive Officer for Victoria Department of Primary Industries

No different to many other investment firms, these invest in water, others invest in minerals, others in power, large investment firms probably plays a part in most peoples superannuation portfolios nowadays.

And trade they did, that is how these companies accumulate so much.

The water rights for the murray just traded hands recently from Japanese investors to Canadian or talk of it at least.

I think rural operators are kicking up now about the buy back scheme.
