Found with the AT Gold in semi wet salty sand ... Better than decimal goldies!

Can't complain about that mate, what number did it show up as being on the AT Gold?

Hi Josh,

Pete from Sydney here, I was the fellow metal detectorist that had a chat with you the day you found this ring. I had a pretty good week myself down south. Nothing worth posting except for a Gold diamond set earring that I found. Nice thing about that find was that I had just put on my earphones and I hear this old lady calling and waving me down. She proceeded to tell me that she had lost said earring the day before and was hoping someone with a metal detector would come by. After about an hour of searching I found the earring under a really jumpy signal. As it was, the ring was under just above a big old piece of iron (boat part or something??). Anyway, she comes screaming over, hugging and kissing me LOL... It was a gift from a deceased Aunt so it had a huge sentimental value for her, so it felt great to be able to return something. Good weekend indeed :)

I'll take a look around on the forums and post my finds as I get around to it. The ring looked nicer in real life ;-)

Hi Pete welcome to the forum!
It was great havin a yarn the other day and thats such a great story mate onya!

Iv'e had a couple of people ask me for help on the beach but I had no luck finding their items!

Well done Joshwasere. You've got to make sure you check your finds. Recently I found a large ring which I though was stainless steel. After finishing the detecting session a mate and I were comparing finds when I showed him the ring. Imagine my surprise when he pointed out some hall marks. Turned out to be 18cwt white gold weighing 18 grams. Happy days.

Well this ring turned out to be 14k! I am waiting for a digital scale in the mail so I can weigh it too!
