Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm looking to see what your experience has been with target ID's for the following coins.

Mine have been:

Australian Penny - 36
Australian Half Penny - 39
Australia Shilling - 30 to 36 where 33 was the most common
6 Pence - 30
3 Pence - 21

Australian Gold half Sovereign - 18
Australian Gold Full Sovereign - 27

1 and 2 cents copper coins around the same as the penny - 36

Modern 5 cent - 9
Modern 10 cent - 12
Modern 20 cent - 21
Modern 50 cent - 24

1 and 2 dollar coins - 30 to 33.

Thanks to all for all your input and test subjects :)

Cool thanks, more info the better, but some of those ID's are not what I have experienced for the actual coin :/

TIDs are only a guide. They can vary for several reasons. Location, soil type, mineralization, moisture, depth etc.

I agree totally and to start with and sometimes even now this throws me off. I did my own air tests the other day and numbers were consistent and similar to LNF, however, i tested them over the different sensitivity settings so i could also guage depth and found after sens 16 you gained marginal depth while numbers started to run riot. I am now happy to run at 16 sens now and have more stable and consistent numbers.
