chalk up a win where you can i reckon

a truck carrying ammonium nitrate crashed in Charleville last night , mixed with leaking diesel from the truck fuel tank the resultant explosion measured 2 on the richter scale

the miracle is that nobody died

I know the second I saw an NH4NO3 truck falling onto its side, I wouldn't be sticking nearby, at all..
Don't think that jumping into water will help you like Arnold Schwatzeneggar in Predator as the shock blast has exactly the same g forces as being out of the water o_O

The supply could also have been old, meaning that it decomposes ( sweats ) and becomes very unstable as well, wouldnt have helped with the big bang, but at least no one died

I used same stuff for blasting in Coober Pedy in early seventies. Quite powerful and much cheaper then gelignate. But it is very hard to detonate, I wonder what set it off.

Incredible that no one was killed in this incident. Not sure what else to say except wow.

wow is the two truckies that stopped and pulled the guy out of his truck

maybe the driver said " RUN ! "

and they were all smart enough to listen.

it puts a shiver up my neck just looking at the photos.
