When i research and plan a day of drive/detect ive learnt to research a second site to have as a backup , this proved useful yesterday. Site 1 was an old school block opened in 1870 and closed in 1960 , google maps showed it relatively intact with buildings and old tennis courts. After a 100klm drive i found the site void of buildings or tennis courts , worse thing was they had dropped fill over the site and back bladed it all. Managed to chat to a local lady she said they knocked it all down 6 weeks prior.....managed to squeeze the 1920 sixpence in the following pics out of the dirt for 2.5 hours work.
Drove another 90klm to site 2 and that proved fruitful , saved 3 little silver 3p best being the 1910 , was told its a key date coin , apparently that monarch died while they were minting them. funny thing was not one copper coin found all day.
