Lol, It's funny how when someone buys a metal detector they automatically take an instant dislike to how people abuse the countryside by dumping rubbish,

This might sound like an odd thing to say but it is not until you actually use a detector do you realise just how much the human race abuses the land, As a kid I use to walk fields and woodland without a thought, And as an adult my idea of rubbish was the drinks can or the crisp packet dropped at the side of a track, But when I bought a metal detector it left me speechless and worn out from digging all the junk not just from modern man from the 1960's onwards, But junk from centuries of man and then I came here where there is thousands of years of junk,

After a while I stopped seeing it as junk where the type of finds created a picture of the life styles of yesterday, Gold is always nice to find but the junk tells the story and paints a picture more accurate than what can be found in books,

Needless to say modern man is a slob they way they dump rubbish,

Don't have to always dig rubbish. The buried old rubbish is one thing, but the rubbish sitting on the surface, that will get the rangers going, and put our GPA areas at risk.

Even as a kids I was always embarrassed of how people look after our land. Keep Australia Beautiful has been going for decades I am pretty sure.

And it doesn't help when you have a certain tour operator who is happy to stop his 4wd on a track near Snowden Well ( Cardinia WA ), light up a smoke, and throw the empty packet out the window ! :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N: :N:

I witnessed this from the bush that I was detecting in, and was absolutely disgusted ! :N: :N:
