Got some from a mine in Hillgrove when a Science student at UNE in the 80's. You can strike matches off the stuff

The amazing thing about Stibnite is that most people wouldn't think something like that would come out the ground, but it does!

My uncle has a very nice Stibnite he bought in China about 10 years back. Very nice piece and I rarely see good sized ones like his anymore without a three thousand and upwards price tag. I wish I was into minerals back then because I would have got one from there also because they were cheap.

One of my Stibnites is pictured below, Stibnite in Calcite.

Hi Martin,

This lump is European in origin. It's from Bulgaria as far as I can tell from it's past travels.

Some very nice minerals have come out of Bulgaria over the years, Stibnite is one of them... I also like Galena from Bulgaria more then other locals.
