Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone who regularly goes to Oallen Ford has had a look at the Shoalhaven River along Stewarts Crossing Road. I notice on Google maps that there is a turnoff into some timbered area before you get to the crossing which can take you down to a very winding section of the River which I am hoping to have a look at over the weekend. Just wondering if anyone knows much about this area and whether or not is it private property or has any other restrictions, ie; mining leases and such, on it before I make the drive up there.

Any info would be appreciated.

G'day willow, we have been for a bit of a drive around the area exploring a couple of times, when we were trying to access where the mongarlowe river meets the shoalhaven.
Not sure of the exact spot you are talking of, but if its on the right hand side, on the braidwood road side of the crossing the whole area is a reserve of some sort i believe and all the access roads are gated and locked.

Thanks Shivan, that looks like the area where I was looking at. There is a track leading off to the right a few hundred metres from where Stewarts Crossing Road goes over the Shoalhaven River on the Nerriga Road side. It looks like the same area where you were talking about where the Mongarlowe River connects with the Shoalhaven. I may have to get onto the relevant authority to find out what the go is with the area.

Thanks again.

Yes i had a feeling it would be the same area. From memory i think it was a nature conservation area :/
If you find out any good news for the area let me know ;)

G'day all

I was looking at that access also. Even went out there to have a look and yes it is gated and locked.
