Not good news to hear we have some major bushfires already on the east side of the country. To the members out that way please be safe

I'm pretty sure the Lithgow fire is under control, the ones up North look like real shockers though.

The wind here in NSW has been horrendous, would hate to be a firefighter in these conditions.

Homes lost at Stanthorpe, Tenterfield and I just read Ewingar has lost 1 home so far... The Ewingar fire is the biggest in NSW with over 13,000h burnt so far

And this evening. We were planning a Ewingar trip for Monday but don't think it'll be happening, might be lucky at Hogarth but will be keeping a very close eye on the situation. Really feeling for the Fire fighters and locals, hope the Tenterfield volunteer pulls through. :flowers: :rainbow:

They are doing it so hard out there with the Drought and now the Fires...

Hopefully there wont be much fuel load left to burn for summer but geez it will be hot on the ground out there so sad. Really feel for the poor buggers doing it tough we here wish them well

When I was down at Emmaville 3 weeks ago, just south of Tenterfield, We commented that there was not much to burn around Stanthorpe and Tenterfield areas...

I think We got that a bit wrong... :/

Things have eased ATM around here, with the Tenterfield, Canungra, Ewingar and Stanthorpe fires downgraded for now...

Its going to be a bad Summer...

The Canungra Fire destroyed the Heritage listed Binna Burra Lodge this morning.... 8.( . Such Pristine Rainforest surrounds the Resort... All gone..

It's now up to Water bombers to stop this fire before it reaches Springbrook Mountain. Fire crews can't get in to fight it and there are hundreds of people who live on that mountain...
They have 10 Water Bombers working this Fire... I found this Flight Path map which shows just how busy they have been...

Worst Fires in QLD history according to QLD Fire and Emergency......

Sad to see the devastation from the fires in NSW and Qld, a sobering reminder of the summer to come as the lack rain rain will see more and more areas fire ravaged.
