Stop buying those trashy magazines and there won't be any paparazzo!!!!
A woman at work leaves them in the smoko room and when I flick through them I don't know any of them.
I asked her who all these people are and what do they do for a living. Got me beat!!!!!

i dont read rubbish like that

what has me scratching my head is how a guy can jump over someones fence at night , creep through their garden and take a photo of someone inside their own home then sell the photo without being prosecuted ?

its invasion of privacy if they do it with a 900 mm telephoto lens from a hilltop 300 metres away too

but if i go to the beach and take a photo of my girlfriend i will have 3 cops jumping on me and possibly charging me with something

there is a big fat hole in the law here.

if you think back to Princess Diana's death in France , she was being chased by carloads of paparazzo which lead to her death ( if there wasnt a more sinister truth behind it )

i dont reckon their resume could justify a claim of "Professional Photographer" after that .

I'm gonna disagree with you on this. Australian law says you have a right to privacy where an ordinary person would expect you to have privacy, ie inside your home, in a toilet etc. In a public place you have no right to privacy, so you can legally take pics of your missus on the beach , nothing anyone can do about that. Further more if you are in a public place you can't reasonably have an expectation to privacy, and that includes if someone takes your pic you can have no legal objection unless a court order is in place - this is inclusive of children. . Only exception to this is on private property where the owner or administrator is able to make the call on photography.

Have a read of this for all the legal reference. http://photorights.4020.net/ as someone who likes to take pics of people in public I had to be pretty confident of the rules.- if some one made a cease and desist order on me I would though, despite my legal right to not.
