You are a funny guy silver. OK here is my 1982 effort. It was a night hunt and when I saw the helmeted figure in the torchlight I thought I had something really old and cool. Tossed it in the treasure bag and when I got home and saw 1982 I was a bit disappointed. Oh well still interesting. It's a Greek 2 Apaxmai. I don't have a huge collection yet as I don't put in the hours some of you do.

I can see where that would have brought on a huge bout of excitement RJ,...I like that big build up feeling when your not quite sure of what you've got, even when it ain't what you thought it was going to be when you see it later,...I've had sixpences turn into five cent pieces virtually in my hand(haha).

Glad to see there was a special spot ready for that photo of yours RJ,...and who knows, we may see a few other 1982 gems on here before we know it,...I've got to look myself now as well.

I have quite a few too, I just clean up one or two of the better ones for my album, the rest go in my ever growing kitty. :)

Those six above would have been pulled from my change pocket over time,....amazing how in tough times people will resort to spending a coin that they have hung onto for maybe thirty or forty years(captain cook fifty cent) and think nothing of it,...or how the young ones will find a few lying around and just not realise they are brand new coins,..and in a flash they're turned into a coke, chips and lollies. Then all of a sudden you're walking into a shop and coming back out with an almost uncirculated coin in your hand(hidden in your change) that if you are unaware just continues on it's journey(into someone else's hand) getting bashed around in pockets and purses and thrown in and out of tills,...until it just becomes another old coin that no one wants to hang onto or collect. So the choice is there for the aware to make,...all my coins go into my left hand pocket(keeps shopkeepers unaware) and only get transferred into my right hand pocket after they have been checked for good ones,...and I only spend out of my right hand pocket,...mind you I'd get in trouble with Mrs Silver if there was no bread on the table(ha).

I am always checking my coins, sometimes I go to pay for something at the local servo, and ask the cashier if they have any commemorative coins they want to swap out, usually they oblige. :)

A bit off topic, but talking to my Dad the other night, he thought after all this time, and only now he tells me that he has a whole box of round silver 50c coins hidden away somewhere. Apparently my Grandfather hoarded them for the silver content many moons ago, and they were given to Dad when he passed away. Sounds like a damned good Chrissy present if you ask me, ;)

Hope that pans out good for you GP,...you just have to let him know that you want it to come your way.
Because that would be really awesome to have something like that happen(to anyone) for you.
