Hi to the forum,
I read a few interesting posts and decided to join the forum. I am keen to learn about local spots for rock hunting and meet local like minded people and also make contacts for out of town places to visit, camp and collect. I also have an interest in mineral processing science. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the welcomes, I am in Mittagong. Quite a handy spot with access directly to the freeway, not to far from Sydney and the coast. A bit of a drive to Tathra but it would be worth going back to try fishing that incredible looking ocean. I did read some interesting facts about the local area and I have access to some great local properties so I am looking forward to a great summer of rock hunting and hopefully more.

You are in a good area, plenty of Sapphire and other gems in the Southern Highlands and Gold nearby also, having private properties to access is one of the hardest parts with this hobby.
