hi all ive been detecting this new area that's got quite a few old huts and this is what I have found for about 2 hours work





some old bullets one a 22 live one now its ok cos I disarmed it. two old buttons both the same writing saying war drops Collingwood 1 Chinese dress button. some lead bits and a peace of Chinese pottery and a green bird ring thing

that green ring, with numbers on it, is that a homing pigeon leg ring??
i only ask cause i found a few of them in a small area and wonderd what the hell they were.

look up in the tree's above where all the rings come from maybe a falcon/hawk nest up there, they love a pigeon now and then :lol:
 
How did you disarm the .22... Just a heads up incase you're unaware, the powder in the rim(the part that acts as the firing pin) has enough punch to fire the bullet. If you've just emptied the powder alone then it's still potentially dangerous.
 
There's actually a .22 case, called a cap I think which is essentially a piece of lead about the size of a bb and the whole propulsion is from only what's contained in the rim, besides that the case has no extra powder in it.
