Pics of smallest out in the feild nugget finds with sdc and qed and coil used Please. Dont want too start a war but would like to see. I have some tiny nuggets that I found crevicing that beep now but didnt beep when they were in the ground so dont count. So far I like the SDC but dont like its price, I like the qeds price but dont have any first hand knowladge about it.

Plenty of ones that dont register on the scale with the scd. Sorry no pics of in field nugs but some are tiny. Basically surface finds with the tiny ones though.

Yeah they need to be pretty big if you are going stick em on the weigh bridge that the scalies use, lol

Last time I was in HE found this little sucker.

It weighs 0 and easily fits under my fingernail

I've found a few nugs with the SDC that don't register on scales as well, lot's of others have said the same too. You would need scales that can weigh down to 0.001g to get an accurate weight. I'll happily take small gold but would prefer to find larger stuff. :D

Some impressive sdc tiddlers :Y: Anyone got some QED tiddlers yet ? Can imagine a little coil on the QED should do ok.

Smallest bit I photographed with the QED 11" round Detech Ultra Sensing Mono

Did find some smaller than that with the QED with both the Detech 11" & Minelab 8" Commander but didn't weigh or photograph them. Est. down in the 0.02-0.03 range but have found smaller specs with the SDC & GPZ. Smallest with a GPX was 0.02 with NF Advantage 14x7. The SDC is by far the most consistent small gold detector I've used & as Heatho says many specs haven't registered on 0.01 incremental scales by themselves.

These days I seem to always just think of PI detectors when thinking gold. As Rockhunter says the LF detectors deserve a mention.
My first found gold was with a Whites GMT & were found on the side of a gully feeding into a creek where I'd panned some chunkier specs. For crevicing etc. & where the ground is mild enough I wouldn't discount a LF like the Goldmonster, GMT, Gold Kruzer etc. etc. They could do the job your after at a cheaper price range.
If you're after something that'll handle more mineralised areas + coil versatility too then the QED is good value. Control box isn't water resistant though.
If ease of use, waterproof & sensitivity are all priorities then you may be better off spending more on the SDC.
