Arrived home yesterday after nine days wandering around one of my favourite prospecting properties. This trip was a little different to earlier visits in that more time was spent exploring known camp sites dating back to the mid 1850's that were located while detecting for gold. As it panned out it was quite rewarding with some interesting finds that included; an 1857 Professor Holloway penny token in reasonable condition, a chinese coin, an interesting cricket buckle, a Mosses Levy buckle, probably of a pair of trouser bracers and half of another token from a Melbourne Outfitter. Through the coming season there is quite a lot of history in the area that will be worth spending more time checking out the different locations, in all a fun trip.
Cheers, Sinhof.
