Shallows crossing

Hi i went gold panning for the first time north of shallows crossing has any 1 been in area if so any luck ? I had my high banker sluice but only panned couldn't find any colour so i never got it out it looked like old timmers had cleaned really good to bedrock to make things worse i got bitten and attacked by chiggers aka scrub mites any 1 ever had them they are really itchy ?

Bummer mate, I've heard those Chigger mites can be really nasty sometimes, make you itch for days. You can use a 5% Permethrin cream from the chemist to kill them I think.

Look out for your health over the next few weeks too as they can give you Scrub Typhus but it's quite rare I think and mainly in Northern Australia.
