Hi Guys,

Went out for a swing yesterday around some old mullock heaps. Pretty rough country and very limited opportunity as far as getting the coil close to the ground due to the leaf litter, branches etc. Looked like country that no one would venture into. Picked up a few small bits and then a strong signal. It didn't sound quite right but I dug it anyway. This is what came up from a depth of about 8 inches.

A 2008 five cent piece...... Someone's having a good laugh about this. As you can see, it has been in the ground for a reasonable length of time. You would always like to think that no one else has put a detector over the ground that you are working. Oh well, perhaps the next spot. At least I was able to pick up some of the gold that they walked over.

Cheers

Les

Hope you didn't put it in your mouth for a quick wash to read the date.

Common practice in some places when needing to ....um...take a dump, was to dig your hole, drop in a coin and crap on top of it.

No worries Les, while it might stop the coffee cravings, unfortunately it won't help kick cigarettes. :(

Common in Vic was the coin in the toilet hole, plus also some clown went to the great trouble of stamping " DlCKHEAD" on little metal tags and burying them. They are a bit of a collectors item now.

The clown who buried the **** HEAD tags, well who is the **** head.
