hey diggers,
im looking to do a battery mod on my SD2100v2, im making a light wight battery pack and i was just wondering what the best voltage to run is i have herd that 7.2v is the optimum, was just wondering if any one could verify this for me, and what effects it likely to have on the detector? or any other bits of useful info on this detector.
cheers rhino :)

Yeah 7.2 will be fine , the optimal voltage is 7.3 but a tad under is probably providing a bit of safety without any noticeable differences
The higher voltage system provides greater deepth and target response and makes the machine more stable and smoother.

The Coiltek one was called the pocket rocket. They come up from time to time on eBay but as far as I know you can't buy them new from Coiltek anymore.
If you can find a Little Ripper (made by Minelab Mods) they are a little ripper & wireless audio also. Not many people that own one sell them. They are no longer being made.

i will be making my own battery pack was just getting some info on the best voltage to run. ive made a light weight gell cell battery pack which works well but i want to go lighter again and more volts. just waiting on all the parts from china. i will post some pic's once ive completed the battery pack.
cheers 'digs' :) rhino

Made my own regulator box out of a jaycar kit, put it in a solid aluminium box and added heatsinks. I ran mine on 6.9V for the GPs, worked great and still have it, still works fine.
