The first tune released, Smell the Roses (from his new album 'Is This The Life We Really Want', available 2nd June), is basically a mash-up of Pink Floyd songs/sounds from the 70's - all that's missing is a soaring Dave Gilmour solo, cutting through the mix.

That said, it actually works rather well (IMHO)! :Y:

Never got into Pink Floyd. Ill have to check it out now Im older LOL
I was always into the stones, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc.
Im even starting to like the Eagles and such like. Crikey I am getting old !!!!!

GT :) :)

I also miss David- PF was never really the same without him. Have been a fan from the Ummagumma days. Loved: "Comfortably Numb" in the "The Wall - Live in Berlin" concert (with van Morrison) and brilliant guitar work from up high (also loved Cindy). His newer stuff like "Each Small Candle" is becoming Bowie-like (Lazarus) - hope there's no connection and not really a fan. Also long-winded and repeating old messages in his newer stuff IMO.

I really love Floyd, just about my fav band ever. This is not Floyd, it has a bit of a Floydish vibe due to samples that are certainly from Floyd but a sampler and some new vocals mixed over the top is far far from the magic that was created back in the glory days of Pink Floyd....Just my opinion but..... I know how this stuff works. :|
