I am looking at purchasing a detector problem is funds are limited at the moment. It would be nice to go out and buy a GPZ7000 or GPX5000 but they are out of my price range at the moment. I am looking at either the gold monster1000, SDC3200 or if I can find a GPX4000 at the right price I might consider it. Can people tell me how they have gone with the decrees mentioned and how they find them to use.

Out of the detectors you have mentioned the SDC would be my choice ,the monster 1000 has to prove it self on Australian ground, there are some cheap 4500 around they are a better detector than a 4000 regards john :)

I have a GPX4500 and an SDC2300. I find the SDC to be an excellent "turn on and go' machine which has found me a number of pieces of gold on each outing. The GPX is a great machine as well but just takes a little more practise to use it to it's potential. I feel that I have a pretty good work force at my disposal with these two detectors. If I was happy to scratch around and pick up smaller pieces of gold, with the hope I walked over a bigger piece, within it's range, then I would just have the SDC. I am fortunate to be able to own both detectors. If you can afford an SDC2300 you will probably be able to afford a GPX4500. I hope this helps. Regards Rick

I would lash on a 4500. I wish I had kept mine I reckon its as good as my 5000 in most detecting situations. IMHO.

GT :)
