Had a bit of trouble with my Pro Pointer recently- it would keep giving false signals and I had trouble with the switch.
The Pointer would work sometimes but most of the time I had to hold the button down and as soon as i let it go it would switch off (really annoying) and I would have to press the button multiple times till it would stay on. I actually thought the problem was that I had a dodgy battery!
Solved it by putting a small spring around the switch up into the rubber button seal as the button itself had worn out and was continuously depressed on the switch!
Turns out the false signals were actually caused by the battery being slightly loose as the small foam disc inside the end-cap had deteriorated so I just stuffed the end-cap with a piece of scrap dishcloth.
Done DIY repairs.
Hope this Helps
