Pre Decimals

Hi, I'm yet to receive my new detector but in the mean time trying to research area's to have a hunt in the Newcastle/Lower Hunter where I might did up the odd pre decimal coin or two. I'm not familiar with many historical area's and I suspect many will be private property such as old home steads etc. I remember when I was detecting some years ago, I was told about somewhere at West Wallsend however the details have escaped me. Any thoughts on accessible area's??

I got an 1881 British shilling a couple of days ago ,pre dec coins are everywhere you look. Start looking anywhere and just know they are hiding till you find them .
