yep im running a genie at the moment to power my computer to post this haha the whole town is out anyone else out of power ? ohh yeah and a few trees are down around the area and some flash flooding earlier

Apparently about 37,000 homes without power across the state. Should all get restored by 6 am.

Welcome to the dark side from us in South Australia. But we have battery back up now which will power 37,000 for a whole hour....we are so lucky. Oh and 2 new generators that we aren't allowed to know the cost of.

Nothing to do with not having enough power. Lots and lots of power lines down over roads due to a large front that crossed the state last evening. No lines = no power.

Ours came back on about midnight last night.

I ended up getting 7500 watts of solar, have a small inverter and a small battery bank currently that can run the house for a couple of days. without sun.
Working on building two low frequency 6kw/15kw surge inverters, hooked up to a nice BIG battery bank. No more power company for me.
And it's cleaner pure sine power, not the rubbish they send down the mains.

I am from SA, cheaper here at times to run a large genny than use mains power.
