Found these at Tambaroora. I think it was my first time up there when I found them. So I found a bucket of dirt that was very compacted and crushed, sieved and found them.

I can get better pics for you.

Pyrite will form in cubes, and will look like a solid shiny metallic cube usually embedded in conglomerate. Pyrite will also form in many other crystal formations.
However most pyrite occurs as small shiny flakes either free form or embedded in conglomerate.

Those however could also be nodules of limonite or "pig iron".
Limonite will form cubes that look black or brown. Its a form of brown haematite (iron oxide) or iron ore.

You could also have a combination of pyrites with a limonite covering.

File the edge or break one open and see what the inside is like.

If its a metallic colour like brass or silver then its probably pyrite, if its a brown or red colour then its probably limonite.

Hope this helps. :D

I have ended up with quite a few of these, but not only cubes, I have had them in a diamond shape as well, are they the same?

Could be Cassiterite or Spinel AtomRat.
Hmm, looked at the spinels on google, could be some of them. I'll upload photos at some point. It would be cool if I have something new to add to my collection though :D
