Possible Meteorite?

Hey everyone i found this while Metal detecting in the Whipsticks Bendigo.
Would i be right in assuming its a fragment of a meteorite?
Its very dense heavy is attracted to a magnet.
I couldn't quite get the light right to take a photo but this is the best i could do.

I had a crack at it with the angle grinder and didnt really do much to it.

not sure I think it is metal slag but it could be

Definitely a hotrock- I found heaps of these in Talbot a couple of weeks ago- bit of a nuisance but a good sign there is gold around. I did read an article where someone smashed one open and there was a bit of gold inside so I always check mine just to be sure!

Looks like regmaglypts which is a good sign, it's not too smoothed but still... Get some sandpaper and rub a corner down and hopefully you'll find Iron.
