Would a pin pointer for crevice work be worth getting? Has anyone ever used one for crevices in creeks ? Cheers g420

Not sure many pin pointers would pick up stuff that small? unless there was a lot in one area but there might be some out there, might have more luck with a detector that can pick up fine gold and is water proof. More experienced guys then me might be able to help you out more. Sorry I wasn't much help.

The Falcon MD20 is meant to be extremely sensitive to fine gold, though not sure whether it can get close enough for tight crevices to be effective, considering the size of the actual probe tip.

Alternatively, the use of a high frequency detector like the GMT or Fisher Goldbug 2 could be used, though an expensive way to go if you don't already own one.

I think you will find most pinpointers usually reserved for coin shooting won't be sensitive enough for this sort of thing, small gold pretty much has to be touching the tip to even register. Fine gold will most likely not register at all.

Probably just as quick to test some crevices in the area to see if they are running with any gold the old fashioned way - by hand. ;)

Yeh I was thinking it might not be able to pick up the small gold...I like the idea of the size and waterproof aspect of it. ..Cheers both helpful!

The Deteknix range has 3 water proof models

2 x 3M

1 x 30M

A choice of battery or rechargeable - built in.

I know of a couple that use in crevices in rocks when diving and around beaches - works well on small sinkers and other items trapped...

Not sure if many or any pointers will detect small fine gold and even small nuggets can be a pain....

I am able to fine tune the Deteknix X-pointer - but when you focus on small gold - it then knocks it out as a Coin and Relic pointer.

I also have stock in Australia... And currently a sponsor.

With the x-pointers what size battery do they take
Do any use a 9v rechargeable ?
Im looking at your detekniz X pointer but says out of stock ..

New stock of the standard X-pointer due by end of this week... Yes to Rechargeable and standard 9V

Wader is 3M water proof and takes either 1 x 9V OR 2 x AA

Wader Li has internal LI battery and charge via USB Also 3M Water proof.

Regester on my Shop and easier to chat and track and not get off topic :)

Can't wait to get my new DETEKNIX WADER I ordered on EBay.
Have a feeling it's from you Anger Management?

YES, but someone registered on my Shop and then went to E-bay ? Cost more Via e-bay due to all the e-bay fees...

Sent just now and have also asked for Signature.....

Had some near misses with Au post and while they appear to do their best... Nothing worse that when they say DELIVERED.. And the Receiver has not got it..

Also check out the u-tube vid in the Sponsor section; as to understand how the Wader and Wader Li / Diver can be set up to work...

Tried to get a vid last night... But need a camera that is set up for night time, otherwise all you see is a flashing red light... From the X-pointer when I am on target.
