Panning in/around Mudgee

Hey all,

A friend and I are working in Mudgee at the moment and finally have a free day this weekend.

We've bought some pans, and a fossicking permit, and want to give it a go whilst in the area.

Can anyone recommend a decent area for panning? We don't mind if it takes us all day to find something, we just want to be able to go home with a little treasure.

We know we'll have to drive out of Mudgee too.
