Didn’t early Holdens or cars of that vintage have carburetors that had a bleeder valve as well. From memory maybe it was on the underside to let fuel out of the carby when flooded? I’m not a rev head and testing my memory here.
I remember SU carbies had a part that was pulled down to work like a choke. It moved the tapered fuel needle downward richening up the mixture. I think they also had a slot /breather where the bowl was bolted on that would spew out fuel if the float got stuck down.

I couldn't help noticing the lack of posts in this Finds section of late ( I'm including myself here). What's everyone been doing over the beach detecting season... show us your finds !!.
Anyway here's what I've turned up lately after some busy spells on Adelaide beaches...

Hi OzzieAu, great to revive this thread!
I am a rather green beach detectorist (my main experience - not considering gold prospecting - is relic hunting in the Italian mountains), but after putting into it my best efforts I was rewarded a couple of days ago with my first real good find: an 18k, 8 gr, two-tone yellow and white gold wedding band! I couldn't believe it when I saw it in my scoop, neck deep into the water!
