The back track
Haven't done much with the kids over the school holidays due to work commitments so I decided to take them out of their comfort zone today and head out for a bit of prospecting and some lunch.

They were soooo happy when I sprung it on them last night /sarcasm :D :D

Went down past the area where the last bash took place and there were hundreds of people out there on some orienteering mission I think it was.
Being a long weekend there was also a lot of people camping out there further in.
I didn't detect too much, maybe 90 minutes all up. Found the usual bits of rust.

Hit a couple of rough patches. Glad it wasn't wet.

Great report Hard luck. That road downhill that looks like it's been chewed up and spat out, is what we were facing after coming around that bend when we were on our way to the campsite for the bash. Your pic does it more justice than mine did, it looked pretty intimidating looking down over the bonnet. :)

Looks like you had a nice day out with ya kids Hard Luck. Keep at it mate, you'll ping a piece soon enough. I reckon we should organise one more weekend out on the gold before it gets too hot? What do you think?

Oh..so that is the way you came in Chewy? lol...was it any wetter then?
When we had the bash I came in from the other side which is nothing compared to this.
Yesterday I took this pic going back as I had already gone up it earlier.

If I can get a sitter I'd be in NeoGeo.

Bring'em along. I'll bring my little tackers as well. We can get'em on the rake ;) If you need to borrow any camping gear ie. tent. Ive got a 4 and 9 man ya can use, plus other gear like chairs and stuff if you don't have enough for your kids.

I hear you mate but mine just do not like camping..lol Didn't start them early enough.

Thanks for the offer on the gear but I have all I need to get out with them should I convince them ever again.

Here's a report from earlier this year with them up at Waanyarra.

I hear ya mate, considering summer is approaching, its gunna be pretty tough for the youngens out in the GT. Still 4 nights is good going out there in Waanyarra with the kids:)
I'm fortunate, my kids like nothing more than mud and dust. So I've got all twelve months of the year sorted ;)
