Hi all.

Own and live on a property near the Woolshed diggings Beechworth. My own property has been mined over the years with some impressive features. Great to have access to those areas that most people can't get to. Have some Chinese history on my block as well with plenty of finds over the years.

Cheers.

Welcome mate, You very lucky to live up there, I have spent a bit of time up there this summer and I love the joint, Enjoy the forum. Balx

Welcome aboard mate. I have also been to your area and had a bit of a look around. You are very lucky to live around there. Lots of history and some amazing country. I might bump in to you when the creek is running again. :)

G'Day Bruisernet

I just spent my first week ever on the Woolshed a few weks ago. Met up with Balx there and had a chat as well. It is a fantastic place and what I like about it is it is an open creek where you are not fighting through the dim and dark depths, mud, leaches (although I have been told they are there). Also there are any number of friendly prospectors you can run into. I cannot wait to get back there. I found a good lot of gold there and what looks like two small diamonds (or topaz) in my pan.

Oh those leeches are there I had one the size of a large slug latch on. Gumboots 100% from now on.

Welcome to the forum Bruiser. That part of Vic certainly has abundant history, not to mention the gold and gemstones of the surrounding region. Always love to stop in Beachworth, and Bright, on my excursions up to the Vic high country, and they never seem to disappoint.

Hope you find the forum of value and look forward to sharing some stories and pics of your unique little corner of this great country.

Cheers Wal.
